SEO - Internet Marketing
SEO means Search Engine Optimization and it refers to the art of making your site friendlier to search engines. By doing so, you are increasing your site's chances to rank high in the search engines results (To learn more about SEO - click here).
You can set the default settings of the site and also set different settings for each internal page. Just choose the page you want to edit under the "Select Settings Level" drop-down menu.
- Browser Page Title: This is the title that will appear on the browser window's title. Usually this is the website's name. In internal pages it is wise to enter the page title before the website's name (i.e. "Our Products - Company Name")
- Description Meta Tag: Here you can write a description of your site, its topics and features. This description helps search engines determine what your site is about.
- Keyword Meta Tag: Here you can enter several keywords that define your site. This too helps search engines categorize your site's content. For example, if you build a site for a florist, you can enter these keywords: flower, flowers, flower arrangements etc.
Google Webmaster Tools
This is used when you want to add your website to Google Analytics in order to track your site and receive statistical data. When you receive a special code from Google, paste it into the box and click on "Generate".
Web Site Footer Here you determine what is written at the bottom of every page of your website. You can set a text and a link (usually a link to the Home Page).
General Web site Information
- Author: Usually this field displays the client's business name.
- Copyright: Here you can setup a different copyright notice.
Print Format Header: Here you can upload your client's logo so that when someone prints a page from the website, the logo and the text will appear at the top of the page.
Web Site Icon: You can upload an ICO file that is a smaller version of your client's logo. This icon will appear next to the website's URL in the web browser, as well as when someone saves the website in his favorites list. This gives the site a more individual touch which helps users differentiate your site from others.
If you don't have such a file, you can create one by clicking the Icons Builder link at the bottom of the screen. |
